Concrete repair works Fishermans Wharf and the finger wharf in Frances Bay Mooring Basin

The project


Advance Civil Engineering were awarded the tender for the concrete repairs to Fishermans Wharf and the finger wharfs at Frances Bay Mooring Basin by the NT Government. 
Concrete deterioration compromised the strength of these wharfs and required significant repair works. 
Corrosion of the concrete reinforcement has cause significant cracking and spalling of the concrete to the underside of the wharfs. 

The scope of works included:
  • Breaking out spalling concrete, expose underlying reinforcement, abraive clean reinforcement to expose bright steel, install zinc annodes to the reinforcement, and apply repair grout system in accordance with engineerings specification
  • Grout injection to cracks not requiring concrete breakout
  • Detail extent of repairs and seek approval of engineerings proir to breakout and prior to repair grout installation. 
  • Installation of hanging scaffold to allow access to the underside of Fishermans Wharf.
